KAEI TAP-1 DACs
The newly upgraded KAEI TAP-1 now features two CS43131 DAC chips and supports USB Type-C input for decoding. It can handle high-resolution audio playback up to 384kHz/32bit and DSD files up to DSD256. With direct USB connectivity, it easily connects to Android devices, iPhones, and computers without the need for an additional DAC or audio player.

All critical components in the TAP-1 DACs headphone amplifier are carefully selected Hi-Fi-grade parts, including non-inductive resistors from RA (USA), resistors from Vishay and Philips, WIMA capacitors, and components from Omron, Philips, and Siemens. The unit includes two premium MUSES02 operational amplifiers, and thanks to the op-amp sockets, users can swap in other dual op-amps to customize the sound. Internally, it uses two separate 4-layer PCBs—one for the amplifier and one for the power supply—effectively isolating power-related interference and improving overall audio performance.

The TAP-1 DACs is a premium headphone amplifier designed specifically for audiophiles. It features a tube bypass switch that allows users to choose between two sound profiles: Normal Mode and Tube Mode. Equipped with two high-end MUSES 02 op-amps, users can further customize the sound by swapping in different op-amps.

*Portable Mode:*
When used on battery power, the TAP-1 can run for up to 10 hours thanks to its 5000mAh battery. It supports standard USB or power bank charging, and is compatible with QC3.0 and PD fast-charging protocols.

*Desktop Mode:*
For home use, the TAP-1 can be paired with an external linear power supply, transforming it into a full desktop-class amplifier. This setup delivers four independent voltage outputs, bypassing the internal power supply of the unit. A dedicated aviation-grade six-core power cable supplies up to ±17V to the desktop-level op-amps and discrete headphone driver system, unlocking the full performance of the device. This mode is ideal for home listening or for powering headphones that require more driving force.
